Fox News star Greg Gutfeld has found himself the subject of a campaign to see him suffer the same fate as Jimmy Kimmel after he swore live on air.
Gutfeld was taking part in a live debate on Fox News about murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk when he launched into a rant about murdered Minnesota State Rep and Democrat Melissa Hortman. The discussion saw him drop an expletive as he got more worked up by the conversation, with his views seeming to rub some viewers the wrong way.
As he was asked by Jessica Tarlov, “What about Melissa Hortman?” during the chat, he scathingly replied, “You wanna talk about Melissa Hortman? Did you know her name before it happened? None of us did. None of us were spending every single day talking about Melissa Hortman. I never heard of her until after she died…”
Tarlov interjected, asking, “Does that even matter?” he then continued his rant, adding, “Don’t play that bull–t- with me. You know what I’m talking about. What I’m saying is there was no demonization amplification about that woman before she died. It was a specific crime against her by somebody who knew her.

He continued, “You could bring up Josh Shapiro, but then you will not bring up, for example, that he was a pro-Palestine person. So don’t use your ‘what about this…’ the fact of the matter is the both sides argument not only doesn’t fly, we don’t care, we don’t care about your both sides argument, that s–t is dead.
“For one thing, there is no cognitive dissonance on our side, on your side, your beliefs do not match reality, so you’re coming up with these rationalizations like ‘what about this, or what about that.”
One fan wrote on X demanding that Gutfeld be given the same treatment as Jimmy Kimmel for his comments on Charlie Kirk over the exchange. They shared, “Jimmy Kimmel has been suspended for calling Tyler Robinson MAGA. Cool. Now do Greg Gutfeld for his detestable comments about Melissa Hortman.”
Others then commented, offering their own opinion as one shared, “He didn’t say one bad word about Melissa Hortman, who was killed by her own party, who no one knew who she was prior to this. And most STILL don’t know who she is.”

A second said, “So much to unpack in Gutfeld’s hate. But for starters. Melissa Hortmann’s killer did NOT know her. Nor did he know her husband Mark or their dog Gilbert. He went after her and other Democratic leaders because they were Democrats. He wanted to kill many people that night.”
A third shared, “I think the 2nd most detestable thing that the left has engaged in after mocking/celebrating/lying about the murder of Charlie Kirk. Is digging up the body of Melissa Hortman (figuratively), to play what-about-ism. The left-wing media & Dems stop covering the story as soon as the narrative didn’t fit.”
A fourth social media user added, “Melissa wouldn’t be in the News today had Charlie not been assassinated … She’s not a victim comparable to Charlie in any way … What about if one of the two didn’t miss?”
A fifth said, “He’s spot on. Both shootings are absolute tragedies, and they are as different as apples and oranges.”
