Jasmine Roth Returns to HGTV: A New Baby, A New Home, and a Whole New Season of “Help! I Wrecked My House”

Great news, HGTV fans — Jasmine Roth is back. After nearly two years away from television, the designer, builder, and fan-favorite host of Help! I Wrecked My House is returning for an all-new fifth season of her hit renovation series.

But this time, the home transformations aren’t the only big changes happening on-screen. Behind the camera, Jasmine’s life has gone through a renovation of its own — complete with a cross-country move, a growing family, and a fresh start in an entirely new state.

🌄 From the Beach to the Mountains

In 2024, Jasmine made a life-changing decision. She left her long-time home in Huntington Beach, California, and relocated with her husband, Brett Roth, and their two daughters to Park City, Utah.

It wasn’t just a move — it was a complete lifestyle overhaul.

“We wanted a reset,” Jasmine tells HGTV. “A new environment, a new rhythm. I’d spent over a decade building my business in California, but I reached a point where I was craving change — for myself and for our family.”

What she didn’t realize was just how dramatic that change would be.

Between building a new house, expanding her company, and welcoming a baby right as they moved, life turned into what Jasmine calls “a beautiful kind of chaos.”

“It’s been really hard. It’s been good,” she admits, laughing. “I don’t think I quite comprehended how much work a move is — especially to another state. We were moving the family, having a baby before our house was even finished, and relocating my business at the same time. It felt like starting from scratch. Honestly, it felt like a startup.”

The first episode of Season 5 captures that whirlwind perfectly — including one very relatable moment involving a spilled bottle of breast milk on her way to a job site.

“We’re all just trying to do it all, especially as moms,” she says. “You make a mess, you keep going, you laugh about it later. That’s kind of been my theme lately — roll with it, because it’s not easy.”

👷‍♀️ Building a New Business — Again

Jasmine’s professional journey in Utah mirrors her personal one: a fresh start with familiar challenges.

In California, she spent over a decade developing a trusted network of contractors, designers, and craftspeople. In Park City, she had to start over.

“It’s been 10-plus years since I’ve had to put myself out there like this,” she says. “It felt almost like dating — finding the right people, figuring out who fits what project, who works best with which client. It’s a whole new dynamic.”

But that process, while daunting, became an opportunity to grow.

“That’s part of why we moved — we wanted to challenge ourselves,” Jasmine adds. “And we definitely found that challenge here.”

Despite the obstacles, Jasmine’s trademark optimism — the “Build Your Happy” mindset that has inspired fans worldwide — remains intact.

“It’s been a huge transition, but also a chance to rediscover what I love about this work,” she says. “You can rebuild a business the same way you rebuild a house: piece by piece.”

🏠 Helping Families Fix More Than Just Houses

This season, Jasmine’s clients are just as memorable as the renovations themselves. Each episode features homeowners who started DIY projects with big dreams — and ended up in deep water (sometimes literally).

The emotional stakes are high, but Jasmine thrives on that.

“For a lot of people, their house is their biggest investment,” she explains. “And when something goes wrong — whether it’s a renovation gone bad or just years of frustration — it’s personal. There’s embarrassment, there’s stress, there’s shame. Half my job is helping people through that before I even touch a hammer.”

That empathy, she says, is what makes Help! I Wrecked My House stand out.

“I spend as much time listening to people’s stories as I do building. I want to understand how they live, what they need, what they’ve gone through. Because when you fix the space, you’re not just repairing walls — you’re repairing confidence. You’re giving people their peace back.”

📋 The Secret to Jasmine’s Design Magic

Every project Jasmine takes on begins with something deceptively simple: a questionnaire.

Fans of her book House Story may recognize it — a list of detailed questions about how people actually use their homes.

“I’ve used it since day one,” she explains. “It’s not just about colors or materials. It’s about habits. Who makes breakfast? Who drinks coffee? Who’s always tripping over backpacks? It’s the small things that make a house feel functional.”

That insight-driven approach has become Jasmine’s design signature — practical, personal, and deeply human.

“When I understand how someone lives, I can design around their life,” she says. “That’s what makes a renovation feel like home.”

❄️ From Surfboards to Snow Boots

The move from Southern California to Utah also sparked an evolution in Jasmine’s design style.

“It’s completely different,” she admits. “The weather changes everything.”

Gone are the bright whites and breezy coastal finishes. In their place: earthy tones, textured materials, and functional features for mountain living.

“I’ve always loved mudrooms, but now they’re essential,” Jasmine says. “We’ve got snowboards, boots, jackets, and a boot dryer. You’d never see that in a beach house!”

She laughs, then adds, “I still love clean lines and light colors, but there’s a lot more warmth here — more tans, browns, and natural wood. The California brightness is still there, just toned down by the Utah landscape.”

👶 Life as a Mom, Builder, and TV Host

If juggling a thriving TV career, a national design brand, and a company weren’t enough, Jasmine’s also adjusting to life as a mom of two.

“Motherhood has changed how I see everything,” she says. “I don’t have time for perfect anymore — and that’s actually been freeing. I’m more focused on creating spaces that work in real life.”

Fans will see more of that real life in the new season, including candid family moments with Brett and their daughters, Hazel and Darla.

“This season shows us as a family going through big changes,” Jasmine says. “It’s not just about renovations — it’s about resilience. It’s about starting over and still finding joy in the mess.”

🧡 Finding Joy in the Chaos

For all the laughter and lightheartedness that Help! I Wrecked My House brings to television, Jasmine isn’t afraid to show the reality behind the beauty shots.

“Change is hard,” she admits. “But growth doesn’t happen without it. This move — this whole season — reminded me that happiness isn’t something you find. It’s something you build.”

That philosophy has carried her through sleepless nights, unexpected challenges, and the demanding pace of filming while raising a newborn.

“Every mom knows that feeling of trying to hold everything together,” she says. “But I’ve learned that doing your best is enough. You just have to keep showing up — for your family, for your work, and for yourself.”

🎬 Season Five: A Fresh Start on Screen

The ten-episode fifth season of Help! I Wrecked My House brings everything fans love — heartfelt stories, stunning transformations, and Jasmine’s trademark mix of creativity and compassion. But it also gives viewers a glimpse of something new: a designer reinventing herself in real time.

“This season feels like a reflection of where I am in life,” she says. “It’s about starting over, finding your footing, and realizing that even when everything changes, you can still create something beautiful.”
