Astronomer wasted no time addressing the controversy. In a statement shared with employees and later made public, the company acknowledged the situation and confirmed Byron’s departure.
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the company said. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”
