In a rare, lighthearted moment on Fox & Friends, Fox News hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Lawrence Jones gave viewers an unexpected peek into their personal lives, swapping funny and awkward dating stories that had their cohosts—and the audience—laughing along.
The segment, which aired from the Fox and Friends studio in New York, started innocuously enough when Earhardt teased Jones about his tendency to overshare.
“Lawrence shares a lot about his dating life,” Earhardt said with a grin, setting the stage for some hilarious revelations.
Lawrence Jones Clarifies and Shares an Embarrassing Story
Jones, somewhat sheepishly, responded, “Yeah, but I share with you off the record, right? And you have managed to tell maybe three or four stories of my exes on air,” admitting that some of his former flames weren’t exactly thrilled with how much he opened up during broadcasts.
“I get complaints,” he continued. “Because they go, people take clips of this and they go, really?”
But the fun didn’t stop there. Earhardt, who is engaged to fellow Fox News personality Sean Hannity, immediately jumped in to press Jones for one particular story about a date he had that went terribly wrong.
A Date with “5 Million Appetizers” and Gas Station Drama
Jones began recounting a date with a woman who, he said, claimed to be fiercely independent but showed an entirely different side on their dinner outing.
“She orders like 5 million appetizers,” Jones started, “and she’s wasteful. She doesn’t even eat it all.”
“Two negatives,” cohost Brian Kilmeade chimed in, clearly amused by the story.
Jones continued, explaining that, as the woman bragged about her independence, he secretly hoped she’d offer to pay the bill. But as the date unfolded, things only got more uncomfortable.
“She goes, ‘You know, my car is on,’” Jones recalled. “I said, ‘OK, I’ll follow you to the gas station,’ and she wanted me to fill her up.”
Earhardt was in disbelief. “She said, ‘You get out and pump it and pay for it?’”
Jones confirmed the bizarre request, but with a twist: “No, I didn’t. I pumped it, but I wasn’t paying for that.”
A Lighthearted Moment with Fox & Friends
The hosts burst into laughter, and the situation quickly became a running joke during the segment. Kilmeade even quipped, “In fact, we got her on the line right now.” Earhardt, ever the comedian, joked that she might have been the one on that ill-fated date. “Oh my gosh, that was me,” she said with a playful impersonation.
Although the segment quickly moved on to a more serious topic, the dating horror story left a lasting impression on both the Fox & Friends team and viewers at home.
For Earhardt and Jones, it was a rare glimpse behind the curtain of their professional lives, allowing fans to see the fun, relatable side of the hosts that they rarely share on air. The lighthearted exchange offered a refreshing break from the usual political commentary, reminding everyone that even TV personalities have their share of cringe-worthy experiences.
As for Jones, we can only wonder how many more dating disasters he’s yet to reveal.
