Four Dead in Suspected Murder–Suicide in Tiffin, Ohio, Police Say

TIFFIN, Ohio — Four people, including two young children, were killed Wednesday evening in what authorities are describing as a murder–suicide at a home in Tiffin, a city located about 90 miles west of Cleveland.

According to the Tiffin Police Department, officers were dispatched to the residence shortly after 6 p.m. following reports of screaming and gunfire. When they arrived, they found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say the incident began when a woman went to the home of her husband, identified as Ryan Eagon, to remove personal belongings. She reportedly believed Eagon was out of town. Accompanying her was Dustin Willey, the father of the woman’s 7-year-old child, who had come to help her move.

The woman’s two children — a 7-year-old and a 7-month-old — were outside at the time.

Investigators say the woman and Willey heard the older child cry out when Eagon unexpectedly returned home. According to police, Eagon was armed and began chasing Willey while firing his weapon. Police say Eagon then shot both children before turning the gun on himself.

The woman was not physically harmed and brought the children inside the house, where officers and paramedics later located them.

The 7-month-old child was pronounced dead at the scene. Willey and the 7-year-old were transported to area hospitals but did not survive their injuries.

Eagon died at the location from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Authorities have not released the identity of the woman or the father of the infant. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not commented on prior history involving the parties or potential motives.

Tiffin police say they will provide additional information as it becomes available.
