On the October 7 episode of Days of our Lives, Ari needed help with her dry-cleaning. Theo played hero and stepped up. She bought him coffee. He didn’t like it. They talked about growing up in Salem. They exchanged names and then bid each other goodbye. It’s official! We have a new couple in Salem!

On My Own

Ari (Marissa Reyes) came to Salem to spend the summer with her mom and decided to stick around to attend Salem U. She snuck out on her first night home and hooked up with Doug (Peyton Meyer). That went nowhere — except to Ari and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) getting kidnapped. And she’s been single ever since.

Meanwhile, Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews — here’s what you should know) has only been back for a few weeks. He’s been busy fending off Tony’s (Thaao Penghlis) attempts to involve him in the DiMera business, and tattling on JJ (Casey Moss) to Jada (Elia Cantu) and Paulina (Jackée Harry). He’s also been single ever since admitting that Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) cheated on him. Such states are not allowed in Salem. Not for long, anyway.

Age of Innocence

Ari and Theo looked cute having coffee together. But how old are they supposed to be? We know Ari just celebrated her 18th birthday, even though she was born in 2013. Theo was born in 2003. But he graduated from high school in 2016. So he’s at least 27 now, 26 at the youngest.

In other words, he’s an adult. Ari is also, technically, a legal adult. But will Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) see it that way? Not just because she’s mommy’s little girl, but because she’s almost a decade younger than Theo. (Which is actually about right, considering the years they were actually born, so good job, DAYS!) Sure, they’re cute together. But will that come with a side order of ick?

Chemical Romance

Is being beautiful enough for a satisfying relationship? Sure, opposites attract, but we aren’t sure this pairing could work. Ari is fiery, exciting, passionate, and adventurous. Theo is buttoned-down, cautious, and a lover of routines. He thinks in black and white. Ari thinks in vibrant colors.

Sure, Ari could get Theo to loosen up, and he could get her to be a bit more cautious about throwing herself headfirst into trouble. They might be good for each other. They might bring out the best in each other. But they could also really, really hurt each other. And neither one needs that.
