Jack Osbourne shared an update on how his mother, Sharon Osbourne, is holding up after Ozzy Osbourne’s passing in July.

He said she’s going through “ups and downs” while learning to live in her “new normal.”

Despite the heartbreak, Jack noted that Sharon has “a lot of love and support” surrounding her.

In an interview with Rolling Stone published Thursday, Oct. 9, Jack reflected on how his mom is navigating life after losing her lifelong partner. He described Sharon as “still trying to figure out what to do without her person,” a poignant glimpse into the quiet strength it takes to move forward after such a profound loss.

“She’s okay, but she’s not okay. It’s ups and downs,” Jack, 39, said. “She’s just trying to figure out where to go from here, how to navigate, what’s the new norm, what’s the new baseline, ‘What do I do without my person?’”

He added, “But she’s got a lot of love and support around her. I’m bringing her back to L.A. this week. Actually, I’m flying over to England tomorrow, because it’s her birthday on Thursday.”

For now, Jack said the family “must keep moving forward” — and he noted that Ozzy “hated people feeling sorry for him.”

“After the funeral, we sat at home and everyone was just having a tough morning, and I opened up my phone and a video popped into my feed, and it was my dad on David Letterman a week after Randy [Rhoads] had passed,” he recounted.

“David Letterman asked him, ‘I’m surprised you came. You’ve been going through it right now.’ My dad’s response is ‘I’m about rock & roll, and I’ve got to keep moving forward, and I’ve got a job to do.’ And I held it up. I was like, ‘See, he’s telling us. Got to keep going.’”

Jack also said that when Ozzy’s health was in decline during his final years, his relationship with Sharon grew stronger. Jack considered this a “blessing and a curse.”

“I think it really helped reinforce their relationship,” Jack said of Ozzy “slowing down,” adding, “It’s no secret they’d gone through their own problems, and I think it just helped really just heal a lot of stuff in a way. The upside, if there is any in the last seven years, is that we got a lot of time with him.”

Sharon spoke out for the first time on Sept. 12 on Instagram and thanked fans for their “overwhelming love and support.”

“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” she captioned a video of herself and daughter Kelly, 40, at a falconry.

“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights. Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with,” she said.
